Ladies Leather Motorcycle Trousers
Leather motorcycle trousers provide the best overall abrasion resistance, when compared to textiles trousers and Kevlar jeans. Leather can also last many times longer than other materials, if cared for properly.
We use cowhide for most of our JTS leather trousers, with typical thicknesses of about 1.2 to 1.4mm. This gives the optimum balance of safety performance and comfort.
Leather is not completely waterproof, so if the rain starts to fall it may keep you dry for a short while but water could eventually soak through.
Sports leather trousers are close fitting (often with the help of reinforced fabric stretch panels) and usually have knee sliders. Good sports-touring versions don’t tend to have knee sliders but often do have stretch panels or elastic stretch leather areas for a comfort fit. Most have CE approved protectors, or responsive D30 armour. Both of these types are normally worn inside boots.
Custom and Harley riders may prefer straight leg, plain style leather trousers. Sometimes these include knee protectors and sometimes they don’t - it just depends on the specification. Usually they come in long leg only, for trimming to length and wearing over the top of boots.
