Knee Sliders

From the late 1960s through to the early 1980s professional motorcycle racers began to make increased use of positioning their own body weight as a means of helping corner speed. Maybe it was the fact that suspensions and tyres were improving, or maybe the racers were just discovering what worked in an era of increasing competitiveness. Whatever the reason, riders started hanging off their bikes more and trailing their inside knee, which improved stability and speed. World Champion Grand Prix racer, Kenny Roberts is credited with the true introduction of the knee dragging style.  In the late 1970s he made knee sliders out of duct tape!  Nowadays, knee sliders are an essential addition to sportsbike leathers.

We have a choice of standard thickness sliders from Alpinestars, Furygan, Richa  and of course, our own JTS brand. For wet weather use, when lean angles tend to be less, Alpinestars and Furygan both have a thicker slider available. All attach to trousers/leathers that have Velcro knee patches.
